254MM is back in my possession. My original intent for the aircraft was efficient performance. That takes a large number of small incremental improvements to happen. Here's a list, in order of bang/$
- Engine Cowl Ramps - CHTs run high on the aircraft and ramps are one of the easiest ways to drop them.
- Balance the fuel injectors -7% fuel burn
- Aileron alignment - The ailerons are not in alignment, one is set too low. This is causing a pretty significant out of trim and excessive trim drag. +4% aero
- Gear leg/fuselage intersection fairings - I have them, they just need to be glassed in. +3% aero
- Firewall exit ramp - Improves cooling and adds speed. +1% aero
- Add elevator root caps +2% aero
- Rebuild canopy - The canopy is set far too high, it could be much more aerodynamic +6% aero
Baseline performance: 140 KTAS @ 7gph
Target Fuel: -5%... 6.5gph
Target Aero Change: 15% (cumulative)... 161 KTAS
